For the last three years, my husband Rich has grown an epic ‘stache during the month of November in the name of men’s health awareness, which has come to be known as Movember. It’s an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers. In 2004, the Movember movement was launched in Australia and New Zealand and is now supported globally in other parts of the world, including Ireland, Canada, Spain, the UK, South Africa, Taiwan, and the United States.
Normally I’m not a supporter of facial hair, but I am a supporter of a good cause, and Movember is one of them. November isn’t over, which means there’s still time to donate! What other time of year (and I’m not talking circa 1990) is it socially acceptable to be a mirror image of Tom Selleck or, in Rich’s case, Chopper Read?
If you’d like to contribute, please visit Rich’s Movember page by following the link or clicking the photo below and donate any penny or dollar you can. Every little bit matters.
And of course I couldn’t end this post without sharing a photo of Rich’s epic ‘stache. Ain’t he handsome?
