Wednesday Weigh In #13 and 14

This past Sunday was my last weigh-in before traveling overseas for three weeks. I ended February on a good note having lost 0.6 pounds over the last two weeks. Although it wasn’t as big of a loss as in weeks past, I was still somewhat surprised to see a loss. I didn’t eat very well over President’s Day weekend and found myself feeling bloated for most of the week after. I just hope I can maintain the weight loss while we’re back in Australia visiting family and if I lose weight — well, heyyy that’s even better!

Current Week Loss/Gain: -0.6 pounds

Total Weight Loss: -11.8 pounds

I’m now officially five pounds away from my goal weight and 8 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. At my lowest, I was 112 pounds but I’m not so sure I have the desire to be at that weight again. It just isn’t a realistic weight for me to maintain at this juncture in my life, seeing how I weighed that little when I was working out six days a week at high intensity while training for my triathlon. My, how my priorities have changed in less than two years!

On Saturday, we start our long journey back to Melbourne for a three week break from the snow, below freezing temps, and the winter blues! Hopefully by the time we get back, spring will have sprung. (Wishful thinking on my part.) I’ll have more free time while we’re there to catch up on blogging, so I hope to have a few more recipes posted or at least prepped by the end of March. I’m pumped to have some warm weather so that we can finally get out on some family walks again!

Figures that the first time we take the little one on a plane, we decide to make it a 34hour journey. Go big or go home, right? If all goes well, I’ll also have some tips on surviving long distance flights with a newborn. And if all doesn’t go well… well, you may want to check in with me at the insane asylum.

Wednesday Weigh In – Week #12

Welp, maybe Rich should go away more often because I lost 2.2 pounds over the last two weeks. Of course, by more often, I mean never again.

I set my mind on getting another 5 pound star this week at my Weight Watchers meeting, and there was no doubt in my mind I could do it if I really worked for it. Sometimes I see my Daily Points allowance as a game, and I played that game well.

What Went Well

  • Tracking:  Counting Points has always worked for me. If it ain’t broke, why fix it?
  • Hydration: I drank kind of a ridiculous amount of water and herbal tea this week, and it did wonders for my waistline.
  • Balance: I’m happy that I ate a serving of fruit or veggies with the majority of my meals and snacks. We have an organic fruit and veggie box delivered to us at home and since Rich was away this week, I had some extra food to play with.

What Could Have Gone Better

  • Exercise: At this point, fitness is a lost cause for me. It sounds like a dumb excuse, but I honestly don’t have the time or energy for it. With a 5:15 am wake up call, a 2.5+ daily round-trip commute, 3x daily pumping (not iron if you catch my drift) sessions, and nearly 9 hour work day, I find it hard to stay on my feet by the end of the night. I’d rather spend what little free time I have at the end of the day with my little peanut, and that’s where my priority is right now. I’m still nourishing my body with good, healthy foods most of the time so finding time to exercise is not very high on my priority list right now. It’s not like I’m eating a bunch of crap AND not exercising… which is justification enough for me.

This week, particularly this weekend, will be challenging for me. We have a busy social schedule over the next couple of weekends because we leave for Australia on March 1, so that means a lot of going out to eat and a bit of a hectic schedule. I tend to sway a bit more when dining out because we tend to dine well when we dine out (No Applebee’s or Olive Garden for this family) and that usually comes at a price, or should I say a pound, on the scale.

My game plan for this weekend is to plan when I can, pre-track if possible, and choose mindfully. It’s okay to indulge but in smaller portions. I’ll allow myself a few french fries but not the whole plate. Wish me luck, and I hope I have some good news next week!

Wednesday Weigh In – Week #10 and #11

Sooo… I guess these weigh in updates are becoming more of a bi-weekly thing, aren’t they? I’ve been finding little motivation to blog these days. I decided not to weigh in this week because I’ve been going a bit off the deep end with my eating habits. Although I did have a loss the week before, I had a bad cold and didn’t have much of an appetite. I haven’t been tracking or being very mindful. I haven’t been exercising. I haven’t been doing much of anything to incorporate good habits, actually.

With Rich being away this week. I decided it was a good opportunity to really re-focus my efforts and get back on track with this healthy living thing. My breakfasts and lunches are pre-packed and I’ll do my best to pre-track my meals for the day in the morning. I have a plan to tackle the week head on and with a positive attitude.

Here are my stats as of January 26:

Starting Weight: 136.8 pounds

Current Weight: 127.8 pounds

Current Week Loss/Gain: -1.4 pounds

Total Weight Loss: -9.0 pounds

This week I’m going to focus on drinking 8 glasses of water a day, eating a serving of fruit or veggies with most meals or snacks, TRACKING!, and staying within my Daily Points. I’m one pound away from getting my 10 pound star at my next Weight Watchers meeting. I know that if I stick to my plan for the week, I can definitely get there!
