28 Weeks: Pregnancy Update

28 Weeks

How far along? 28 weeks and 8 days — Welcome to the third trimester! Here goes nothing. 😉

Baby is the size of an … Eggplant! Baby is somewhere between 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and around 2 to 2.5 pounds.

How has (s)he changed this week? Baby’s lungs are mature enough that he or she could probably breathe on her own if born prematurely. Plus, its eyes, which can open and close now, can sense changes to light as well.

So far, I’ve gained … 27 pounds total. I actually lost half a pound this week.

Sleep has been … Okay. Been getting about 7 hours a night with lots of bathroom breaks in between. It’s starting to get hard to get comfortable.

I feel … Sweaty. Another heat wave has begun in Boston!

I miss … Nothing at the moment

Craving …  Chocolate =)

Keep me away from … Nothing at the moment

Symptoms?  Back pain, frequent bathroom breaks, mild hearburn

Gender? Boy! Or girl. Who knows!

Maternity clothes? Most clothes at this point except for a few pre-prego tops

Movement? It’s pretty constant at this point. =)

Exercise? Nightly stretching and some walking

Healthy eats? Pineapple, watermelon, bananas, coconut water, and salad

Splurges? Fourth of July feast: Steak, potato and macaroni salad, and chicken wings!

Wedding rings on or off?  I’m single wedding banding during the heat wave.

My best moment was … Just getting to spend time with Rich while he’s home this week!

Looking forward to … A bit over a week in Orlando, FL! I’m going for a work conference and Rich will be visiting some offices while we’re there, so we’re extending the trip for our last babymoon before the little one comes. =)

27 Weeks: Pregnancy Update

27 Weeks
 

How far along? 27 weeks and 5 days — only a couple more days left of the second trimester!

Baby is the size of a … Rutabaga, whatever that is… Baby is somewhere between 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and over 2 pounds at this stage.

How has (s)he changed this week? Baby’s brain stem, which controls vital functions such as heart rate and breathing, is almost fully developed.

So far, I’ve gained … 27.5 pounds total. I actually lost a pound this week. This is what happens when I lay off the cupcakes and practice disciplined eating habits when Rich is away. =)

Sleep has been … Interesting. Tonto woke me up at 2am on Wednesday to go to the toilet, which he never does unless he’s sick, and he wasn’t! Maybe he’s just getting me ready for mamahood… I’ve also been having the worst/weirdest dreams this week, including one that involved zombies last night. Had to think really hard about puppies in order to fall back asleep after that one!

I feel … Tired from running away from zombies, er, I  mean waking up from nightmares.

I miss … A cold sandwich from the deli!!

Craving …  Beef! A steak and cheese sub might be in my near future.

Keep me away from … Nada! Anything is fair game.

Symptoms?  Back pain, frequent bathroom breaks, mild leg cramps at night (I need to get walking more!), and holy heartburn on occasion — That’s a new one!

Gender? Boy! Or girl. Who knows!

Maternity clothes? Most clothes at this point except for a few pre-prego tops

Movement? It’s pretty constant at this point. =)

Exercise? Not much besides nightly stretching. No wonder I’m getting leg cramps.

Healthy eats? Pineapple, salad, bananas, yogurt, and overnight oats

Splurges? Blue Ribbon BBQ twice this week for lunch

Wedding rings on or off?  Still on

My best moment was … Resting my phone on my belly while I talk to Rich, and the baby kicks so hard that it moves the phone. =)

Looking forward to … Rich coming home and having the next week and a half together. Do I sound like a broken record? =P

26 Weeks: Pregnancy Update

We’re into the double digits, folks. Only 90-something days till Baby F is here!

How far along? 26 weeks and 5 days!

Baby is the size of a … Head of lettuce! Baby is somewhere between 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs between 1.5 to 2.5 pounds.

How has (s)he changed this week? Baby’s skin has pigment now – thanks to the production of melanin – and his/her eyelashes have grown in too!

So far, I’ve gained … 4.5 pounds in the last two weeks, 28.5 pounds total. Oy.

Sleep has been … Just fine. Lots of bathroom breaks in the middle of the night.

I feel … Tired from staying up late too many nights to watch the Bruins! But feeling good besides that.

I miss … Sushi!

Craving …  A cupcake

Keep me away from … Nada!

Symptoms?  Slight back pain, frequent bathroom breaks, itchy belly

Gender? Boy! Or girl. Who knows!

Maternity clothes? Most clothes at this point except for a few bigger tops

Movement? It’s pretty constant at this point. =)

Exercise? Walking and nightly stretching

Healthy eats? Cantaloupe, salads, bananas, yogurt, and overnight oats

Splurges? Ice cream! Temps are getting hot around here. =)

Wedding rings on or off?  Still on

My best moment was … Hearing the peanut’s healthy, strong heartbeat at our 26 week appointment!

Looking forward to … A couple of hours at the beach with Rich! Baby and Mama need some vitamin D. =)
